Top 10 Uses for a Bricked iPod
So, you’ve got the smiley face of death on your iPod, eh? Don’t just toss that overpriced paperweight just yet. Here are a few things you can use your busted iPod for.
10) Doorstop. Shove that thing under your door and you’ve got yourself a shiny (not for long), art-deco doorstop.
09) Projectile weapon. It’s heavy enough to do some damage so give it a hurl at the next scoundrel who accosts you or save it for when your life is in series peril and you need something comical to throw.
08) Time capsule object. Stick your bricked iPod in a time capsule with your Lady Gaga and Animal Collective records for the robot overlords of the future to dig up and discover.
07) Modern art piece. Take it apart. Rip the guts out. Staple, tape or glue them to a display easel. There you go, modern art.
06) Hide illegal stuff. Take out the guts and use the small inside compartment to hide things. Nobody will ever think to search an iPod.
05) Mail it. Send your bricked out iPod along with a threatening and hostile letter to the home address of Steve Jobs. He’s pretty sick and might die from the shock but whatever, he deserves it.
04) Anger relief. Stomp it to tiny pieces and see how good it feels to destroy something that at one time was so valuable. Afterwards go relax on your patio dining set and drink a Sunkist.
03) Gift it. Give it as a gift to your naïve buddy. Tell him or her it was working last time you checked.
02) Sell it. Try to pawn it off on some sucker from Craigslist. Make sure to state “All sales final” as you pocket the cash and run away.
01) Bring it to the Apple Store! Sometimes the frowny smiley of death face doesn’t mean your iPod is completely shot. Sometimes it just means it needs a new recharge of the battery. Sometimes the Apple Store geniuses can work some magic and get it back to perfect shape. Never say never.
